THE FARMER’S
MINDSET.

“You reap what you sow.” Most people hear it as a warning. A farmer hears it as a plan.

How most people hear it

Do wrong, and it comes back on you.

How a farmer hears it

Plant good on purpose, and it comes back multiplied.

He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

2 Corinthians 9:6 · King James Version

It’s the same law either way. So today I’m going to show you how to stop living feast or famine behind the chair and start reaping a harvest every single week. I’m going to give you one principle, two strategies and two tactics so you never have to wonder where your next client is coming from again, even if your book is half empty right now.

The Principle

A farmer never asks for a harvest he didn’t plant.

One seed doesn’t come back as one seed. It comes back as a harvest. Plant those again and it compounds. That’s why a farmer’s whole skill set is about planting and tending, not hoping.

The farmer’s five habits · tap each one to see it behind the chair

Say thisFarmers don’t hope for a harvest. They run a system that makes one.
Strategy 01 · The mindset

You’re always planting something.

Every client, every post, every minute you show up late is a seed. The only question is whether you picked it on purpose.

Remembering his kid’s name and asking how the game went.

Seed.Grows loyalty. He feels known, not processed. Known clients don’t shop around.

Running 15 minutes late because “they’ll wait.”

Weed.Grows doubt. They wait today. Next month they book the barber who respects their time.

Rushing the last cut of the day because you’re tired.

Weed.Grows a bad review. The cut people talk about is the one you rushed.

Posting one clean, finished cut every day you work.

Seed.Grows discovery. Strangers see your work long before they need a cut.

Asking for the rebook before they stand up.

Seed.Grows a regular. A date on the calendar beats “I’ll hit you up.”

Dropping your price to be liked, then resenting the client.

Weed.Grows bitterness. You attract people who came for cheap. Set a fair price and stand on it.
Sorted right: 0 / 6 Pick seed or weed for each one.
Say thisYou don’t get to skip planting. You only get to choose the seed.
Strategy 02 · The system

Plant three seeds every day you cut.

01
Before client one

PLANT A POST

One finished cut, good light, your booking link. Done before your first client sits down.

02
In the chair

PLANT A REBOOK

Nobody leaves without a next date on the calendar.

“Want me to hold this same time in three weeks so you stay sharp?”
03
End of the day

PLANT A CHECK-IN

Text one client you haven’t seen in five weeks or more.

“Been a minute! Want me to save Saturday at 10 for you?”
Your harvest estimate · move the sliders to your real numbers
Seeds planted a year750
Extra cuts booked75
Harvest a year$3,000

Based on 50 working weeks. This only counts the first cut each seed books. Every rebook that sticks becomes a regular who keeps coming back, so the real harvest compounds past this number.

Say thisThree seeds a day doesn’t feel like much. By the end of the year it’s a whole field.
Two Tactics · Make more money from the same field

Turn this harvest into a bigger one.

Tactic 01

NEVER EAT YOUR SEED CORN

A farmer saves the best seed to plant next season. Eat it all and next year starts from zero. Move a set percent of every week’s money into a Seed Fund that only pays for growth: ads, a better camera, a course, a second chair.

Seed a week$70
Seed Fund a year$3,500

Move it the same day every week, before you pay yourself. Based on 50 working weeks.

Tactic 02

CROSS-POLLINATE

Bees carry pollen from field to field. Your happy clients carry your name. Give every happy client two referral cards: their friend gets $5 off the first cut, and they get $5 off their next one when the friend books.

New clients a year50
Harvest a year$13,500

Uses the $40 average cut from Tactic 01. Regulars come every 4 weeks (13 visits a year). The $10 in discounts per referral is already taken out.

Say thisSave seed so next season starts ahead. Let happy clients do some of the planting for you.
